  • The lyrics of those years are even today so much valid. Most beautiful song.

  • This song takes us to an altogether a different world which we cannot explain in words. All through, the song is very smooth and both the singers have done utmost justice to it. The music composed is also equally the best. no other artists could do better than this. thanks for uploading . All songs of this film is simply superb.

  • A superb song. Both lyric (Sahir Ludhianvi) and the music composer did the best justice to the song. Thanks. Khalid Asghar, former Station Director, Radio Pakistan, Lahore. (11 March 2010)

  • Beautiful song by Sahir, Mukesh, Asha Bhosle combine.

This reminds me another song on Subah - from movie Sushila "Gam Ki Andheri Raat Mein .... sub zaroor aayegi" by Anjaan penned after few years (1966).

  • Yes, humanity lives on memories of past days and survives on hope for the future. Makes us all human isn't it?

  • sorry for the error . plz read ''exists only ''.

[contd] sahir was the great genius who raised social and sensitive issues fearlessly through his poetry in the most beautiful and sensitive way and his lyrics always made an indelible mark on the heart and soul of the listener whether uplifting or depressive ! a great gift to the hindi cinema and to us human beings .

  • you are right , sounds v revolutionary in the days of youth but v depressive indeed when you grow older and realise that the state of the world doesn't change and human suffering seems to be endless . and ''woh subaha'' for which we are all waiting exists is only in our minds ! but human mind is like that . it exists on hope however hopeless that hope is .

still , as you say the song sounds PERFECT with its indelible and irrefutable sahir stamp on it .

  • Agree with you 100%. A perfect song in every respect. But a bit too depressing for me.

  • indescribably ,beautiful and an immortal creation by all greats ! : sahir -khayyaam and asha-mukesh .! my most favourite duet to which i can listen endlessly !

  • Sorry,forgot to credit Asha.
