150mph mg zr turbo

a quick squirt from 50 to 150 in my t16 turbo zr, gets a bit of clutch slip going from 4th to 5th.

Hi, iv got a bleed valve its inbetween the acuator an bmv... What do you mean get rid of the bmv? cheers

@bikesmad get rid of the bleed valve and buy a decent ball and spring type boost controller then take the bmv off. with a manual boost controller you dont need the bmv, it would be pointless as the bmv will still modulate the boost pressure despite what the controller is set at.

aww rite okay, what psi would you recomend me to run mine as mine just got a t28 turbo it on 10psi atm, il do a vidio an show you what it goes like cheers

@bikesmad if everything else is standard apart from your turbo you can run it at 12psi safley, anything above is a bit of a lottery with your engine. have you got a manual boost controller? if not i would get one and do away with your standard bmv to get the best from your turbo.

@bikesmad im running standard pistons at the moment at 14psi, but the i have had the head ported and running piper 270s through a big front mount. a k7 is a gearbox off a 220 coupe turbo, ideal ratios for a zr with a t16. a t28 is a good turbo with plenty of kick providing its off a pulsar not a 200sx and should see you run 280bhp nicley with the right mods to go with it. im running the t4 because i have done all i can without going fully forged which is coming soon.

@xazzmanx aww rite okay is hat standerd pistons? what boost you running it on?.. i just bought a t28 for my mg turbo whats the best turbo you would recomend? whats a k7 box? wb cheers

@bikesmad hello mate, the turbo when i did that vid was a t28 pulsar turbo, its got a t4 turbo fitted now, branch manifold and a k7 box. i will do another vid in the summer when i get it out again.
