Maybe if Sanitarium hadn't voted to ban Canadian drug imports our drugs would be cheaper. So I ask, Mr. Sanitarium, how is that the Free Market? And, as a former Senator, who pays for your HC?

I am not denying merits of single payer system. I am just saying what's the ultimate solution, system that's fair, that doesn't favor any particular group of interest and it's least expensive, making American economy the most competitive in the world.

The knowledge I'm lacking is an understanding of your bias.I work for a small business that would benefit from a single payer system. You deny an idea on a purely philisophical ideological basis, ignoring any poissible merits it may have.Everyone except for some insurance execs would be better off.It would lower the cost of doing business for American corporations allowing them to be more competitive internationally and raise compensation for workers...allowing workers to be better consumers.

Healthcare operates in a market that the health insurance companies created...I would like to eliminate that unethical market.

The problem is that health care doesn't really operate in a free market, it's one of the most regulated industries with government involvement at all levels. This is the reason for high prices. There are things that are seen and unseen, you saw that a certain industry is doing well because of government subsidy. You're not seeing companies that could have been created if there was no subsidy. I recommend you articles on mises.org, they describe these things much better than I do.

Free market is not always the best solution...don't be a rigid ideologue whom ignores practical advantages and facts.Even hardcore free market advocates differ on many application issues. By the way, subsidizing has helped many business's get through the initial developmental struggles and eventually thrive in the free market.

You do know the U.S. has the most expensive healthcare in the world now, don't you.Free market ideology works for Ipads..but not health insurance. We need a single payer system to spread the risk out among healthy people.Everyone will need healthcare someday...it would be like paying it forward. Is it perfect ?...NO....but it would be a great way for our country to work together and benefit most. The only people that wouldn't benefit are those who can pay all expenses out of pocket..very few.
