I find cross country easier turning FS 90 degrees on your toe-edge, swing your nose 45 degrees in front of you, the swing your tail 90 degrees in front, nose 90, tail 90, nose 90, tail 90... this should turn out to look like a penguin waddle thing, but hey... it's easier and you move faster!
