  • @Rodeo6521 Yes, I couldn't have said it better myself. Each artist puts their own stamp on it when they nail down the role. I think Elena Rodger sounds more like Valerie Perri (another original who opened the Chicago company) back then. They are all great performers and Rodger's has a fresh style and exceptionally worthy performance. The music and dance are more West Side Storyish with catchy latin drum beat rhythms on Buenos Aires number. It's a fresh and exciting new version!

  • she will win a tony for this

  • @mzmiller52 she has fire

  • @MissKolling1 she is amazing

  • @littlelottesangel I know, dear. I wanted to say that Patti is my favorite original Evita. The best from all of them.Elaine open it in 78, Patti in 1979, Almost contemporary interpretations. That's why i think Patti is the true Evita.

  • Elaine Page is wondwefu! I`m argentina, I saw to Elena Roger in Buenos Aires, before Evita. I thought that she is a good singer and dancer and has a lot of years for to continue growing. In Piaf she was fantastic.

  • @misskolling Elaine Paige actually was the original Evita which premiered in the West End. Patti Lupone did it when it came to Broadway a few years later

  • so where's the fire??? like all the musical theatre stars today, lots of technical knowhow, but

no soul. i hope ricky martin doesn't disappoint. mandy and patti were in their 20's with enough presence to knock the walls down.

  • Andrew Lloyd Webber looks weird

  • @BubblyBrainiac Well said! Every artist brings something different to the table in terms of vocal quality, movement and theatricality. It doesn't have to be a comparison shopping competition. All can be enjoyed on their own merits. It is a matter of personal taste who is the best.
