Na'Mayn is a composed and improvised piece which is on my CD A LIFE (You can download this album at www.michaelknopf.com). It uses a 12 string guitar with strange tuning that I use to imitate the pandiatonic and drone sounds of Indian Raga music. Stylistic synthesis is achieved here through the medium and the approximation to Indian sounds as well as the use of art music's close chords at the start and end. The piece is named after a favourite garden of Baha'u'llah, Prphet and Funder of the Bahai Faith. The garden is simply beautiful and was one of the few spots where He found relief from the rigours of imprisonment & exile.
