Interview with Dr. Gregory Button author of "Disaster Culture: Knowledge and Uncertainty in the Wake of Human and Environmental Catastrophe" recorded April 2, 2011 in Seattle.
Basically we, as the greater society, have bought into the Hegelian way of life. Please beleive that many crisis are generated so that Gov. can "save" us and we feel we cannot survive without parental government caring for us.
fascinating and thought provoking interview. I wish you had had more time. Perhaps you can have him back for another interview to delver deeper into some of the subjects. There's a book called, "Merchants of Doubt" which speaks to the deliberate obfuscation of issues -- like tobacco and global warming... anyway, thanks for this important interview.
