Happy summer everybody! This is a video I performed, mixed, and edited all in one evening. There are no tricks or fixes in this video. What you're seeing is what you're hearing. All I did was loop the different layers during the mixing stage so that they all come together to build a full band!

This was a heckuva lot of work and I'd LOVE for you to spread this video around as well as posting any comments or questions you might have! Thanks!!

I got the inspiration to attempt this video from watching a lot of Mysteryguitarman's videos, specifically "Looping Around": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FUds2... . I then saw this video by TheLotanos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVYRT9... . This also encouraged me to try my own brand of looping video. It's a more complicated and demanding way of performing a ONE-MAN-BAND project.

This wasn't as easy as it may look... I had to do quite a few takes cause I'd screw up little things, and I was battling the perfectionist inside me to get this done. I just had the idea for the groove and then figured out what each part would roughly play, then I just had fun jamming it out and I thought this was the best overall take (the guitar solo is pure blues wankage tho.... haha). I'm playing along to a really loud metronome and a simple scratch track I made.

TECH STUFF:

Recoded and mixed in Logic Pro 8 via Presonus Firepod. Drums had 2 condensors for overheads and 2 dynamics for kick and snare. Guitar amp (Traynor 40) was mic'ed with an SM57. The bass and the keyboard were both DI.

I play Fury guitars and Nord keyboards. The right-handed bass is my dad's ;)

Video edited in Final Cut Pro

Special thanks to Kyle Krysa for letting me borrow his awesome Canwood drum kit and thanks to my Dad for filming!
