@oneperson2person I agree. That would be just like Garak. And he does appear to be humouring Bashir in the scene. He was probably preparing his comeback line, while Bashir was thinking he was going to make his point.

@kalenmiyan YEAHHHHHHH
-
@MARGARELON It's kind of justified, since Garak was a pretty well respected and connected member of the Cardassian secret intelligence group the "Obsidian Order".

Garak fucking owns.That's the point.

I like to think that Garak actually does know this story and he's just leading Dr. Bashir along the whole time =)

@greenrangerv1 true, i loved that about DS9.
for example Rom. He started off as a good-for-nothing, a laughing stock, who "couldn't fix a straw if it was bent". then he became expert engineer, an aid against the Dominion, he got the hot girl, and then he became the Grand Nagus of the new Ferenginar

Garak: "Never tell the same lie twice."
Garak: "The truth is usually just an excuse for a lack of imagination."
Rule of Acquisition #60: "Keep your lies consistent."
Rule of Acquisition #266: "When in doubt, lie."
All you need to know to succeed in life.

@joegarrett917 it is like an iphone (smartphone) the screen flip depending on how you hold it

My life moto started when he said that :)
The best part is when Garak just walks off at the end, like David Caruso on CSI.

@ArcaneAzmadi Maybe. But maybe no one trusts Garak, because everyone on DS9 just assumes that he is a spy, simply because of his race. Like Bashir, for example in the beginning. And even though everybody thinks, that he is a liar, he manages to trick them again and again. Because that's just how great a liar he is. It's easy to fool somebody who trusts you, but you must be good to fool somebody who mistrusts you from the beginning. That's the difference between Garak and the shepherd boy.
