'Suite Gothique', written in 1895 by the French organist and composer Leon Boellmann, is a popular staple of the organ repertoire. A suite of four parts the best-known are the Introduction, with its distinctive alternating use of Full Organ and soft registration and the powerful Toccata which closes the suite.
I'm rather pleased with this as its the first 'proper' piece of organ music that I've been able to play 'properly'. There's the added bonus of a nice creaky swell shutter doing its best to drown out the last chord.
Really great! About the swell shutter. Beeswax will fix this and is an excellent lube for wooden things. I use it all the time in Reed Organ Restoration.
