On September 7, 1999, Pumper 10 collided with an XB Ford Fairmont whilst on it's way to an alarm call at Swinburne Uni.

This is the news footage from Channels 2, 7, 9 and 10.

  • @MrWillyLeigh Hi. This was Car 208. Commissioned in 1998 and was only in service for a year before the crash.

  • Did they work out who was at fault?

  • Never heard the result of the investigation, so your guess is as good as mine.

  • @lutan1 I think the term is "safe and expedient". You crash and it is neither safe or expedient.

  • Not saying I agree with it, but under our State's road rules, the pumper operator is at fault if he was running lights and sirens. Some crap about due dilignece, etc....
