In the old Ravi Shankar videos there is a young man being initiated in the traditional String ceremony. Could it be Ganesh? His face looks like an aged version of that boy!

AW!!! THIS SOUNDS SO AWESOME!!!!! X-()
It's almost like the VHS transfer gives the sound an extra dream-like quality.

Raag Malkauns is one of the best sitar music I ever heard. Thank you very much for such a soothing mellody.
-
Where is Pandit Mohan these days? Is he still performing?
-
The Sitar looks like a vintage Hiren Roy brand. It has the Kharaj bass block like Nikhilda had on his sitar. The taraf pegs are not originals. Hats off to the jawariwalla! That bridge is warm as toast!

Just noticed the Tabla players name in the clip. Nayan Ghosh.

Very nice, this sounds so much like Nikhil Banerjee playing the Malkauns. Wonder what make is the Sitar, it is big. Who is the Tabla player?
-
Yeah. I also found other CD's, too, for anyone else here who is interested.
Nice. Senia/Maihar gharana, I presume. What happened to him? Is he still around, and are recordings of him available? It's a shame about the sound quality here, but thanks for posting this.
