I made this for an English project. It goes along with my speech. [here is part of it] If you want the whole thing, message me and i'll send it to you.

I have a personal investment in this topic. I'm not gay, although I do have a lot of friends and even people in my family who are. And I have seen how they have been treated because of who they choose to love. And guess what, it hurts. This isnt about politics, religion, or anything else. This is about the human heart, and if that sounds corny than whatever. It is corny.
A really big issue that goes along with gay marriage is Proposition 8 which was passed recently in California, banning gay marriage. If someone you know voted for this Proposition or supported those who did or the sentiment they expressed, I have a question, because truly, I do not... understand. Why does it matter to you? In a time of divorce and one night stands, homosexuals in America want the same chance at happiness that is your option. They don't want to deny you your rights. They don't want to take anything away from you. They want a chance to be happy with the person they love.

And here are people who were so happy at the prospect of just that chance, for the hope of having that feeling. With so much hate in the world, with so much meaningless separation, and people pitted against people with no good motive, this is what your religion tells you to do? Tells you to take others happiness and throw it down the drain? With your knowledge of life and this world and all its sadnesses, this is what your conscience tells you to do?

Only now you are saying to them, no. Maybe they can have something similar. You'll even give them all the same legal rights even as you're taking away one of the legal rights which they already had. Our world is still anchored by love and marriage, and we are saying, no, you can't get married. What if somebody passed a law that said that we couldnt get married to the person we love?

  • it is their loss............happiness is the one thing no one can decide for YOU.

  • breaks my heart my family hates me~great video

  • You are free to LOVE whom ever you please, we have free choice in our lives love one another so true..BUT that doesnt mean have sexual relations with the same sex, LOVE IS NOT BASED ON SEXUAL DESIRES but of true inner love... if gays an lesbians really loved their mate..they would not engage in sex because it is detestable an a abomination to G-D..Why lead someone you love to death and destruction...?? im confused?? y not just b good friends chilling out together y does sex need to be involved

  • truely beautiful bravo

  • AMAZING. This video really inspired me to stand up. Homophobia is common but it bothers those who love someone of the same sex sometimes. We should have the right to marry whomever we choose. As the video said, LOVE is LOVE. It's not based around gender. Love will prevail!
