The average age of the flight controllers during the apollo missions was 26, so no, not all that surprising.

They recently got a $1.5 bilion contract from nasa to resuply their space station. I dont know if people are aware of this but Elon Musk the owner of spacex is actualy South-African. When he was 19 he moved to Canada and then america were he started PayPal which he sold to Compaq for more than a $bilion, he then used that money to start Tesla Motors and SpaceX as well. He is a big insperation for me, I am also South-African.

I highly doubt your scenario, seeing as how, whether you use a rocket or a spaceplane, you're still getting into the space the hard way, by using immense power. The ONLY way rockets could be threatened is the space elevator.
In addition, SpaceX plans to make their rockets fully reusable in the near future by having them do propulsive landing back on Earth, so their prices will only continue to decrease.
