The day after my channel hit 1000 subscribers, I went to the beach to see some old friends and catch some waves, and I thought I would try out both my waterproof cameras to see how easy they were to use in the surf, and how they came out.
チャネル登録者が１０００になった次の日に、千葉の本須賀で友達とあって、ボディーボードをしながら、持っている二つの防水カメラを試してみようと思いました。

The GoPro Hero is fixed on a wriststrap that makes it easy to paddle out into the surf with. However, because it is on your wrist, and there is no viewfinder, shooting can be a bit hit and miss.
GoPro Heroカメラは手摺に固定されているためパッドリングには邪魔にならない。但し、同じく、手首に固定している、そして確認できるビューファインダーがないため、撮影する­のがちょっと困難です。

The Xacti on the other hand is hand held, so I attached it to the wriststrap of the GoPro Hero, but had to use my right hand to hold it while paddling out. Also, it takes some time to get from standby to recording. However, once it starts shooting, it is easy to hold and operate, and has a viewfinder so you can check what you are doing.
Xactiはまず１．５ｍ防水だからサーフィンで壊した場合、多分保証対象にならない。そして、手に固定する方法を自分で考えなきゃいけなかったのでちょっと面倒だったし­、パッドリングしながら右手に持っていたので、右手でパッドリングができなくなりました。しかも、撮影が凄くやりやすくて、そしてビューファインダーがとても役立つ。

Both shoot in fairly high resolution, but the Xacti is obviously better quality.
両方のカメラが高画質で設営するけど、やっぱりXactiの方がきれいな動画になります。

Living in sun starved Norway. I want to say one thing. I want to go to the beach!! I am not the greatest surfer but these waves I think I can handle on my long board. This brings me good memories from the time I used to live in Chiba Pref. Katsuura and Tateyama.

Ed mate, Tateyama (the point by the big flower nurssery) is probably my favorite spot in all of Chiba. It is just such a mission to get all the way down there... This winter, I think I'll get down there sometime... Is there no surfing in Norway? Ah well, you can still at least enjoy lots of fish!
