Students decided to stop the traditional sequencing of information in their textbook in order to devote class time to the production of this public showcase. After Mr. Hand introduced the project on February 27, students immediately began choosing roles of writing, producing, shooting and editing in iMovie. Another important step was managing their time and adding in extra time after school to complete necessary steps of this final cut.

This video was produced by 9 students, grade levels 9-12, in Mr. Scott Hand's elective Basic Video class that meets 3 days per week at FCAHS. It is a rich example of 'just-in-time' learning that highlights student choice and project-based experiences that define the 21st century classroom. This project's objective was to provide an overview for an event at the high school called 'Flip the Switch' which occurred March 18, 2008 during evening hours.

Taking theoretical ideas and transforming those ideas to a final project is not easily accomplished by any group of people. These students have demonstrated their digital, communicative, and collaborative skills far beyond the expectations of a first level Basic Video student. Proudly, this video was shown to an attentive audience on the evening of March 18 as an introduction to the Flip the Switch event. It is a showcase of not only information about CFF (Classrooms for the Future), but also a showcase of student work at its finest. All of us are learners every single day at FCAHS, and our work is a litmus test of what we can do in our own area of expertise as well as when we combine efforts toward a common goal.
