  • you need to use pressure fittings

  • @cesartico83 Furnco is on there so I can switch over on the fly if I loose a pump;)

  • just an idea but might you be able to fit two submersible pumps with separate outputs on one switch. it would more then likely make pumps last much longer.

Also pedestal pumps are made very cheaply you might want to invest on a zoeller.

  • @CVRealMan I got an older M57 Zoeller that the switch was bad on it so I wired it solid to make it a Non Auto.I made up my own gasket and replaced the stripped screws for hardened alan bolts. I also got a piggy-back float and it has been running like a tank for about a month now.

  • @smaerd58 update vid?

  • @CVRealMan I will get one up soon....I have been working on a Hydroponics (Aquaponics) set-up. Video soon on that too ;)

  • Hi

I came across your two videos on the sump.

As part of our business we install sump pump systems.

    2 things.

Firstly do the pumps have a waranty the motor is not dependant on water flow to cool so it could run 24h a day for a year with a dry or wet sump.

Secondly the float switch is set way to high, the water is probably permeating between your membrane and the slab and your you are making no progress on lowering the water table under the house.

If you have any questions come back to me

  • my pumps are submersible but ive piggybacked 2 1 on top the other cause when its flowin its flowin just like urs than i have a battery back up also, when the pit fills all the way its building alot of pressure under and around the foundation its easily relieived by not letting the pit fill past the halfway point on the inlet pipe.

  • @fjm67 Agreed. You don't want your drain tiles filling up completely. It's better to have them flowing freely into the pit and have the pump come on before the water reaches the level of the drain pipes. With this amount of water, you should invest in a Zoeller M98 1/2hp submersible.

  • You'd be better off if you lower the float height so the pump kicks on before water level rises back into the drain tiles. Will run a bit more often at first but you'll dry out better.

  • @smaerd58 Sounds like a decent setup!
