just wanna say what a good teacher you are. i used to take raqs sharqi belly dance classes and, though my teacher was wonderful/talented, i never got details for the moves with regard to where your weight should be centred, etc. but i really wish to return to those classes. like you said, it becomes an obsession.

it would have been nice if you had explained to the (what seems to be primarily male) audience that the dance does not exist to give them boners.

I love the mention of the "belly dance bug." I'd never heard that before. I started a mere six months ago and have been practicing for hours daily since... even though my dance ambitions don't go far beyond performing a few times for extra cash or for fun.

I thought I was just crazy, since I'm the only one in my small class like this. It's good to know other women fall just as hard and as fast for the dance as I did.
