This is DIVINE! So passionate and his voice is so ringing, rich and lush!

Franco has always been my favorite of all the great opera singers. Like I've commented before the American singer Donald Braswell looks enough like Corelli and sounds enough like him to be his twin (when Franco was younger). Donald Braswell studied under Franco.

The voice is wonderful, no one sings it better! Thanks for posting....

Corelli is my favorite Don Jose. I have the old Karajan recording with Price and his voice in this video does appear to be dubbed in from that recording. That is my favorite recording of Carmen. I've never heard another tenor sing the Flower Song with more feeling and passion than Corelli. Bravo!!

Gee! No wonder Milli Vanilli got in trouble!
This thing about lip-sinking is a bit confusing!
So, was it Price's voice that came out of this other woman?
I am not so sure she would have appreciated that!
The singing is NOT from 1982 - he was retired. It could be a lip sync filmed in 82 from an earlier performance - he lip snycs some stuff from the 60s on The Voice of Firestone or maybe it was filmed and sung before 1982.

@65attila Nobody stated that the singing would be from 1982. The sound is the Karajan studio recording with Price as Carmen, the film is from 1982, made for an Italian tv program.

That is not Leontyne Price! She looks nothing like Leontyne Price!

@RainhadoCanto4 That is indeed not Price on the film, nobody said otherwise. This is playback, the film was made in 1982 after Corelli's retirement for an Italian tv show using the Carmen recording made in the 60-s with Karajan and Price.

The sound recording is from the studio recording with Karajan (Leontyne Price as Carmen) made in the mid 60's. Strange thing to "make a video" out of it about 20 years later.

It was made for an Italian TV program called "I Grandi della Lirica". There were similar shows made with other great singers like Bergonzi, Becchi and others. There is an interview before each aria, the singer talks about the role that follows the interview.
