Fred Thompson: I want President Obama to fail

Fred Thompson told CNNs John Roberts that he doesnt want Barack Obama to succeed as president. I want his policies that I believe take us in the wrong direction to fail, Thompson said.

Well, thats the same saying you want him to fail, isnt it? asked Roberts.

Well, you know, were quibbling over words you can put it any way that you want to, said Thompson.

lenegal - Where was Thompson during Bush's spending? - He was saying stop it, like the other conservatives of the party. Obviously Bush didn't listen.

But, let's not forget that the Democrats took control of Congress in 06. So, they were writing the spending bills since then. Surely you remember the term "lame duck Pres"

Also, The top 50% wage earners paid 96% of taxes - The bottom half earn 12% of the income and pay less than 3% of the taxes under Bush. Google rich pay more taxes.

lex - While I agree with your comment about the failed economic policies - to set the record straight - Treas Sec Hank Paulson had contributed to Bill Clinton in 1992, Democrat Bill Bradley's 2000 & Chuck Schumer. He also appointed a major Democratic fundraiser to a key advisory role to "help" him as Treas. Sec?

Bush had only released 1/2 of bailout - then Pres elect Obama requested remaining half.

Also, Iraq war cost is $600+ billion - not trillions. - Just for accuracy's sake, here.

Obama's plan will fail just like the republican plan of bailing out AIG and stimulating the economy with the same kind of economic policies that have never worked before in the history of mankind failed. Not to mention trillions on the Iraq war.
