Tim talks about his relative, Thomas E. McMillan, who served on one of the very first bomber crews in WWII. McMillan's adventures in part inspired the Cary Grant movie, "12 O'Clock High."

Three of my family flew with RAF Bomber Command - two flew Lancasters, one flew Stirlings. One killed, one taken prisoner.
I mention this quite deliberately as background. The USAAF aircrew who flew B-17s and B-24s in daylight operations over Europe (whether 8th or 15th Air Force) have my greatest respect and admiration. This took unbelieveable courage and determination.
To all of them - thanks guys.

No disrespect to these people but I think they mean one of the first AMERICAN bomber crews. Very intersting storey though.
