  • hey iwas just wondering if how did you set up ur kd 4.1 desktop coz i tried mine some of them doest work and some times its way to slow. thanks

  • My kde 4.1 was slow sometimes too and that's why I'm with KDE 4.2 now

  • arhhh im cofused, to install kde4 or gnome, what u suggest?

  • I'm now with KDE 4.2 and it's working good ,but it's up to you!Better try both and make the decision!

  • dats cool. i'm using the same os, but kde 3.5. I think they are still more stable=)

As i can see, u have not enough resources to ride all compiz fast enough. =))) And by the way, try emerald and suberkaramba!

  • Tnks, but it's not from my resources(Intel core2 duo 2.0 Ghz and Nvidia GF 8400)the jamming came from the program witch i used to record! And it's with emerald theme manager :)

  • Kde doesn't stand for kubuntu desktop environment, but for K Desktop Environment. Kubuntu is just ubuntu with kde as its main desktop environment.

  • Very cool video, man. I'm so proud of you.

  • (continued) is propably migrated as a port from BSD (I'm not sure for this but some linux users say so). Linux is wonderful for mobile computing, and if you own multiple PCs, you have a small company or so, in order not to pay and pay for the licences. And of course for server purposes. Well the fact is that one has to study some things in order to operate it. But that was also in DOS commands and operations.

  • Hmm I know, unfortunately the new Google OS just aprooved a "Google cilent" maybe it's target is mobile, laptops in which the battery life matters. Linux is nice for educational purposes (especially if you want to get the so called Red Hat certifications and work at the server / networking field), it's excellent for web surfing, Opera is excellent in Linux and as I noticed it's faster in web surfing than Windows. This is probably due to that the TCP-IP stuck is native on Linux but in Windows it

  • Off course Wine is not a emulator... wine may be a Windows Interpreter for Linux (personal concept xD )... but... the basic concept is emulation!

  • Something system running on another system is emulation!

Wine use API and DLLs from Windows System... this API and DLLs is not native of Linux... then... Wine makes possible that these API and DLLs run some Windows aplications... so, this is EMULATION (not Hardware emulation, is Software emulation off course)

  • wine is not an emulator ;)

thats also what the developers says

wine doesn't need the power from the processor to emulate a "windows"

(fyi the name wine came from W=Wine I=is n=not (an) e=emulator)

  • Great... but... emulated (with wine) it will never be better than native (on windows)... Specially the games!

  • I don't have problems with that^^

  • ¿¿¿Much better???... Crysis on Linux only run High detail level (no Very High DX10) because only DX9 is supported on wine!

  • Crysis works mutch better on the new wine

    FarCry don't know

    fear don't know too

    cod don't know too^^

    but Adobe CS4 works great

    just update your wine ;)

  • That wont play games either. Just have windows partitioned.
