You can either focus on how so much garbage music is making money right now, or realize that garbage music has and always will make tons of money and just relish in the fact that kids today can easily find great music for themselves without the filter of the labels and radio.

Sure, theres more crap to sift thru. But the sifting is much easier than "This has a cool cover, let me spend 10 bucks and pray its actually good"

@MrSKINFLICK I'm with you on both of your posts. Your Ubu comparison is perfect. For me, Can's approach is more important than any particular sound they produced. This is part of why it's so difficult to explain to people why Can is a proto-punk band, and that punk re-tapped Krautrock's love for and ambivalence towards western music standards... (And then promptly became a parody of itself.) The same confused people start searching for spiky hair when you call Ubu post-punk.
