"Day of the Tentacle" is abreviated as DOTT. It's a LucasArts Adventure Game that takes place after "Maniac Mansion".

The only thing that I modified was the Audio. I took two MIDI samples and a Roland sample of the intro music and combined it together, matching up parts that were out of synch and taking out the crunchy sounds. I then added a take of just the voice and sound effects and compiled it.

For playing the game, and changing settings at will, I used SCUMMVM (available at scummvm'dot'org). For recording, I used CaptureWiz and recorded using the "WhatYouHear" feature in stead of my microphone.

All credit goes to Lucas Arts for making this wonderful game. I simply tweaked the intro to make it slightly more presentable and enjoyable.

  • No one makes games like this anymore. Probably the best point-and-click ever.

  • @doritisfat So far, I've found one company that still makes good, commercially-sold, 2D point-and-click adventure games: Wadjet Eye Games

I'm finishing the Blackwell series right now.

  • @UnoriginalMaterial I dunno, Telltale Games hasn't disappointed me yet...

  • @censor1934 Me neither. I haven't played through the games of theirs that I have, but they seem to stay faithful to the series and do a good job. I'm talking about 2D point-and-click games though. To me, 2D can often be way more beautiful than 3D. I'm still glad Telltale is continuing these series though. They're in good hands.

  • For these music inhancements is this for display purposes or can you play the entire game with this mod?

Im using scummVM for Nintendo Wii, works great with all the voices. Wii remote perfect for click & play games...

  • Display purposes. It's not a mod; I just mixed the audio to be more presentable. It's just a video.

  • @doritisfat so many great adventures from Germany: Edna breaks out, Deponia, Harvey's New Eyes, Lost Horizon, Secret Files, Ceville, jack Keane, Ankh and so on...

  • Hasn't this originally been "MANIAC MANSION" for the Commodore 64?

  • @doritisfat Larry 7 for me :)

  • @doritisfat I don't get why Lucas Arts decided to make only crappy games at one point...

But you can still find good games - I loved Gemini Rue (also by Wadjet Eye Games) and Machinarium seams also pretty cool. The thing with the Telltale games is their puzzles are way to easy. I played the Sam & Max episodes and never had to really think hard to find a solution. That's adventures for pussies *G*

  • @UnoriginalMaterial You ever play The Whispered World?

  • @doritisfat Probably? Definately!!

  • I would say the 3 best point and click games are dott full throttle and dust which was my first love. "dust a tale of the wierd west" its still great if u havent played it i doubt you will be too disaspointed redjack is great too they made a third game but i havent played it

  • "Nonsense! it makes me feel great! smarter! more aggressive! i feel like i could.... TAKE ON THE WORLD!!! Most classic scene in video games history!

  • Please don't play this Blade!!

  • ok
