That was actually take 2. The first take, camera was not rolling (my fault) so we mixed coffee grinds and hot water real thick to simulate resin for the video, but yes, a lot of folks save and smoke the resin.

I use a plastic ziplock bag to soak my slides and downstems instead of the containers less mess and easily disposed. PSA

The alcohol does not make a solution with the salt. The alcohol acts as a solvent for the tars, oils, waxes and resins and the salt merely acts as an abrasive to help dislodge the crap. Any alcohol will do, ethanol, methanol, isopropyl etc, it just has to be pure.
