where can i watch the whole lecture ?

He is for art that asks questions, not art that masks (obvious) answers with strategy.

What would a liberal critic be? Someone who loves high prices and hype for nonsense, like joke paintings and flayed, enlarged versions of the Little Dancer?
-
he's reactionary, and is further right of conservativism. he's not radical at all. standing as a staunch foe of present-day congratulatory criticism might have him painted as a "revolutionary", but he's certainly not the only "old hat" mid-century critic with his particular point-of-view. thanks for this video

Well put. Art today is too easy, too close to kitsch.
-
I feel like "conservative" isn't applied right here. If anything, he's radical in that he wants a real revolution, instead of the art world just spinning its wheels.
One only needs to read Mr. Hughes work, watch his programs and listen to understand, he comes from a place of deep love, appreciation and total respect for genuine art. He is the voice, of a time, long gone. And, if we don't heed his warning, we will lose, forever. And pity the society, that has no true connection or appreciation for it's art and artist.
Bravo Mr. Hughes..BRAVO!

How about: " Thank you Mr. Hughes, I'm just another ignorant little weasel."
