Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Sigourney Weaver stars in this emotional true story about a 1970s religious suburban housewife and mother who struggles to accept her young son Bobby being gay. What happens to Bobby is tragic and causes Mary to question her faith; ultimately this mom changes her views in ways that she never could have imagined. Ciao Amici!

As Bobby Griffiths Lover/Boyfriend when I was a young man, I've placed numerous posts here, over the past year! Lately, I have been receiving some rather indignant PMs charging that my post were somehow for personal gain!

  • @lifetimetv08 I would like to answer those charges and say unequivocally, I am out for "Personal" gain! If by sharing my relationship with Bobby from long ago, and contrasting those very different times, from the way things for queer(LBBT/gay) people are today, I am able to dissuade

just one young person , from harming themselves, then that would be my personal gain!

    Ciao Amici!

I've been rereading the original biography by the late Leroy Arrons, focusing on the chapter entitled, "The Leper". Not wishing to sound selfish, I was gladdened to

read where Bobby had said that I had been "good" to him! Though it is painful to read further the depth of self loathing that sweet Bobby was burdened with. I was a teenager myself at the time and was undergoing the angst that all teens face, with of coarse, the added burden of being gay!

  • @Kankurofa wow you never had to learn about love did you?? If you did you would see how beautiful this movie is to teens and people just having a hard time with being who they are.. I give you a hug tho I am not going to show hate like you do.. Love is never wrong it is just that love.. Mary Griffith became a wonderful woman and learned just what love should mean.. It is just sad it took her son's death to see that.. I hope it dose not take you some one you care about to die before you change.

  • i remember watching a lifetime movie a long time ago about a son who killed himself with a gun when his family was out to church

    does anyone know the title?

  • Attention whore.

  • It is not a joke....how do you know what it feels like to be gay....People are just people, don't judge them because they are gay...be respectful to others.
