what happens if u dont highlight all the video?

and when i upload my vid to youtube why does it keep giving the HD option and not HQ?

nothing really..i highlight mine because once i left a small clip wwaaayyy over to the right and it rendered like 5 minutes of extra unneeded stuff so i highlight mine to make sure that this is the stuff i want to render and nothing else :)

I have a new lap top computer and it has 09' windows vista installed...and there is not a more advanced video editing program availiable for my formated PC, the only one I able to find was " Vegas Pro 8 Udated" was wondering if you knew any other worthy programs that would be eligible for my computer. Can some one please help me! when i render my halo 2 videos they seem to come out darker then what they were before, the only go dark when i render them, you can see a sample in my videos, can anyone help me please! i want to get this fixed!!!!!!!!! i want them to be the color they were at when i captured them
