@MrQuietman1968 they applied new compound onto the new processor already. but yeah the old stuff should have been removed.

@mildphil when you take the heatsink off it makes the surface of the leftover thermal compound very "bumpy" and that can form airpockets when he puts it back on and applies pressure.

@worghal i don't think he used the same heatsink for each CPU, so idk how bubbles would form like you said.
