This is me messing around with a simple PC fan hovercraft - not perfected. It used two AA batteries and one 9V battery. I plan on getting 8 AAAs so that the weight does not lower the plate appreciably.

  • You can power a computer fan with batteries?

*Throws the 20 metre wire in the bin*

  • Well... I would not suggest it for inside a computer, because you'll be replacing the batteries every day.

  • and also, how'd u take the rubber off the wires so it only has the metal parts sticking out?

  • Wire stripper.

  • I'm sorry, but... is it full of eels?

  • @ellimist45 A PC power supply runs on 12 Volt DC your house runs of AC so basically the power supply takes your AC converts it to DC and then scales it down to 12 volt DC, batteries are also DC power, so 8 AA batteries(or as in the video 1 9v + 2 AA(1.5V each) = 12V DC

  • @bryanobi or plain tinkering with an exact-o-knife

  • @folken692000 suppose I got mixed up between AC and DC power.

  • @dale456654 What makes you think you couldn't? 12V is 12V...

  • well the next step is to make a rectangular frame out of modeling foam and add 2fans. 1 strong and light rc car motor and a high efficiency motor for the propulsion.

  • i used a 12 volt transformer

it works better and doesn't run out

  • Use small duracell 12V battery, or two. Its super lightweight, but its quite expensive.

  • @bryanobi or a lighter, just burn the insulation off

  • use 2 12 Volt batteries instead. They're lighter so you can put them to the hovercraft.
