Speak Now ---(3)---

"What am I doing here?" was all I could think of as I stared blankly at a distance, waiting for my bag to arrive. "What. Am. I. Doing. Here!"


"S-s-selena Gomez!" I turn around at the sound of my name to find a girl, no older than sixteen, standing beside me. I took a minute ans scanned her quickly. She was holding my book with both of her hands. "I love your book!" she yelled not able to control her excitement.


I open my mouth to respond "Oh, I loved it too" those words didn't come out of my mouth. I turn around to find Miley walking towards us with a bright smile on her face, her ice blue eyes shinning from the bright airport lights. "My favorite character is Madison Powell, she is always so happy"


The girl's smile gets wider "And the ways she always makes Samantha smile!" she grips the book closer to her chest "She's my favorite too!"


I stare at Miley smiling like a complete idiot as she slowly leans closer to the excited little girl "You and I would get along just fine" she whispers adding a wink as she returned to my side.


Of course they would, they both love Miley.


The girl giggles "C-can I have an autograph?" she asks in a surprising low tone.


I laugh and reach for a sharpie I keep on my purse, I sing the girl's book and she turns around screaming like a five year old to her mother.


"Wow..." Miley whispers staring at the running girl. "I just met my first fan!" she smiles jokingly giggling at her own comment. "I'm just kidding, now come here superstar, give me a hug" she pulls me into a tight hug and whispers "We missed you, Sel"


I close my eyes trying to hold back the tears that were rushing to my eyes. I missed them too, there wasn't one day that I didn't think about everyone here. "I'm nervous Miles" I admitted in a low whisper.


Miley pulled away from the hug with a smile "Hey, relax. We are all still the same people" she pauses looking up at the ceiling as if thinking about something and I know a smart comment is coming. "Well... Except Joe, he's dumber than ever. He fell down the stairs... Again"


I can't help but laugh, I was loving having Miley close again. "You pushed him didn't you?"


She shrugs her shoulders with a sly smile "I'm her little sister, I'm allowed to do that kind of stuff"


Our laughter fills the airport and curious eyes turn to us. Just as we were laughing my bag appeared from the Baggage claim and Miley took it before walking out of the airport.




The ride was loud, both me and Miley couldn't stop talking. We talked about college, careers and finally boyfriends. Miley has had six boyfriends since I left and me... Just one. A fact that Miley found hilarious. "Oh come one, it's not that funny!" I yelled over her powerful laughter.


"Are you kidding?" She stopped laughing slowly, focusing on the road "I find that hard to believe. When you were in college all I heard was how all the guys were behind you!"


I narrow my eyes curiously "What?!" I giggle "Who said that?!"


"Nick!"




The name lingers in the air and both of us grow silent. I look down at my lap and Miley glues her blue eyes on the road once again. "How..." I sigh unable to find the words I want to say "how is he?" I finally ask unable to look up.


Miley stays silent for what feels like a lifetime "you'll know in a little while" she answers glued on the road.


I sigh "He probably doesn't even want to talk to me" I finally look up and face Miley "How did he take it when he heard I was coming?"


"Well..."


My dark eyes widen "He doesn't know!?"
