Oh about the damage... The springs were perm compacted. We stripped it down and eventually all the parts went to a guy with a 4cyl TJ to make his a 6cyl. State Farm was happy, they'd been getting charged for it being out there still. The Nissan pickup was a 100% waste too. When we found it the truck was upside down and buried, only the tires slightly sticking out.

We went with the Anchorage club to recover this one 2 times. Finally in October a friend of mine and I got to it and we had a Bronco with a 13K winch and two jeeps with winches and a lot of shovels. Took nearly 8 hrs to dig it out and then we towed it back. Knik Glacier and Metal Creek isn't the place to play like that. I still have the keys in a display case to remind me of my time in Alaska.
