To honor Lionel Hampton, vibraphonists Milt Jackson and Gary Burton perform individually with the Golden Men Of Jazz playing "Bag's Groove" and "Seven Come Eleven". Then the Howard University Jazz Ensemble join in for a rousing rendition of Hamp's "Flying Home".

At this event, the Golden Men Of Jazz consist of Harry Edison on trumpet, Marshall Royal on alto sax, Al Grey on trombone, Andy McGhee on tenor sax, Junior Mance on piano, Arvell Shaw on bass, and Bobby Durham on drums.

Originally aired December 30, 1992.
