Seems to work but the game will be a lot slower and choppier, at least on my computer.
-
My game crashes on startup with the error "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
Any Idea what's causing that? I run the game on windows vista 32 bit and when I used to run it before, I made sure to make it use only one core, the problem (seems) to be one day it just decided to stop fucking working for no reason... no APPARENT reason, anyway. And of course windows is too fucking stupid to find the reason.

Sometimes my game really crashes. I tried to lower my settings and it still crashes. I don't know if this tutorial will help me fix this crash problem.

LOL at the music!!!

in the settings, change from "hardware" to "software" fixed this for me!.

@Mastermind12358 ea didnt make simcity maxis did and ea bought out maxis..ea dosent make any games they just kinda "own" them in a sens therefore theres nothing ea will do about it beacuse it would cost more than its worth beacuse the game is so old and the fact that not many people like or even no about the game...
-
@RGCShyTiminator well im not trying to be rude...but its kinda obviouse what put in game disk means...it means put in the simcity4 game disk.....-_-
-
Yo can do this automatically: right click on the shortcut, and type, in target, this:
"C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -CPUCount:1
You just need to add the -CPUCount:1 after the .exe route (with no " ").

ea still exist today and could easily release a patch for this.

they say the operation could not be completed access is denied
my simcity 4 always crashes next time i've downloaded mods and try to use them
but after a while it runs fine
btw i'm using windows 7

@Tuppoo94 ..I found out that some mods may be the cause of crashes, sometimes. Some may cause the whole computer to crash/reset, some may only reset the game, after which you are suddenly looking at your desk top..... Therefor, install one mod at a time. Play the game. If you have problems, remove that mod. If not, then install the next mod. As far as I know, no mod has ever damaged a computer, so don't fear that. A bad mod only causes some annoyance, nothing more. Simply remove such mods.

mine just wont run, it says to put in the game disks, wtf does it mean
RGCShyTiminator 1 year ago
@RGCShyTiminator It's a form of protection. The game won't run unless you insert an official CD. Both the original game as well as Rush Hour need a disk in the player for the game to work. If you have an illegal version you will have great difficulty to start up the game. If it'll work at all....??!!

ea should've done something about the problem instead of sittin on there fat arse count their cash

@SlipperyPedo ....that would have been impossible since Vista did not exist yet. And dual core processors were rare or maybe still in development when SimCity 4 was created.
So, there is no-one to blame.
