Love to all the exemployees of Independence Air, from a former (aviation gods willing, future) ExpressJet agent. You totally rocked, my favorite plucky little airline after my own. Hope many of you found other places in the industry....nothing else ever quite measures up does it? I was an intern at Independence Air and I still look back with fondness and touch base with former employees here and there. I wear a Independence Air hat, and people still stop by and say hi when I fly. It was a very close community and the best place I ever worked. Glad to see it's still memorialized here.

It's such an unfair thing:

Over here in the UK I can take one look at British Airways and see miserable cabin crew who repeatedly go on strike, and who are clearly only in the job for the money and the free travel perks.

I'm sure there are similar stories at legacy carriers in the US.

And yet airlines like Independence, who have a really loyal staff base (and pass on that satisfaction to the customer) are the ones who are going bankrupt.

It just shouldn't be that way.

i miss independence air, i loved that airline, i loved the planes, i loved everything. every flight was like a cheap, private flight.

I liked Independence Air and got to fly them CAE-IAD twice...I came to like light blue because of them...it's very hard for me to watch the final flight b/c the tail number was one I flew on when it was Independence Air...kudos to the news footage production for making it like I was on the ramp with these emotional employees at Dulles
