LOL does anyone remember that they were 15 when they did Frogstomp?? How many of you are still into the same shit you were into when you were 15? I still don't see how anyone can think that Frogstomp is better than Diorama or Young Modern.

@BrillianceUnlimited...thats just it. Changing their sound/look/ what have you, was not "necessary". If they had stayed true to themselves instead of doing what is considered "in" these days, they still be spittin out singles like Freak and Tomorrow and they would STILL have their fans to support them. Now look at them. Losing fans and not really gaining new ones. I still love them.

I have to disagree, I think each Silverchair album is completely different and amazing in their own right. Frogstomp, in terms of originality and creativity at that time is on a par with every album they have released. And like you said, their influences will have developed and changed since they were 15! so of course the albums will. In my opinion they have developed with the scene and managed to say very fresh in a very diverse market - which is hard to accomplish.

and no. it took me a long time not to think of a number of bands as sell outs... but they change. everyone changes... and heavy bands seem to find some beauty in later life in softer more melodic tunes....

@BrillianceUnlimited I love Silverchair, they were in some heavy stuff at the start, Daniel was really suffering, it is good to see him happier now. He's still singing meaningful lyrics, people are just not cottoning on. Maybe pain is easier to recognise than happiness sometimes... I don't know. But I get pissed off when 'fans' say shit about Silverchair and Dan because of their changes. Fuck those 'fans', they should go neck themselves.
