Final Fantasy VI Level 1 Run Boss 4: Vargas

This series of videos shows all the boss battles from a Level 1 Challenge playthrough of Final Fantasy VI. The game was hacked to start everyone at level 1 and prevent certain forced battles from giving EXP. Except for a few rerecords to keep me from having to repeat stuff over and over, this challenge was done in real-time.

Vargas is the first brick wall in the Level 1 Challenge, and some people think he's unbeatable without cheating. He's definitely difficult, even with a good strategy, but not impossible. The key to winning this battle is to get a feeling for when he's going to use Gale Cut, and have all three party members alive for it, with Edgar and Locke at max HP. If you can have Edgar and Locke survive the first Gale Cut and then take out the bears, you stand a good chance at beating him.
