I used this training myself. I cannot tell from the video, but I myself have it set up and I make sure to position my punch so that I am just able to reach it.. So that it is the speeds snap at the end that breaks the surface of the paper, and not just my fist going past/through it.

I extremely dislike your vids. You don't know shit. Newspaper the way you hit it will rip no matter what as your basically running into it. If that's how u punch your wrong. It should be with your arm like 75 percent extended or so so that speed is necessary no just u basically grabbing it and rippin it off the string

I Prefer Jeet Kune Do

can you whip it like jackie chan? :D

@BlackDice572 I think an easier equasion is Force = Speed + Mass
-
@jheck88 best for you Shooto, BJJ, Wing Chun, JD, Boxeo.

@BlackDice572 Power is not speed x weight, but speed x mass. Mass can be 'increased' by good foot, hip and body movement. That's why some people say that the power of a punch come from your footwork. If you move your foot, hip and body good then you don't only gain more mass into your punch, but also more speed.

@skizle1337 Have you ever tried it? It's actually a lot more difficult than that!

Hey baby, yeah im tough i can punch through paper... Bitch PlZ
so your showing that snapping is as strong as power? to break a piece of wood it only requires the speed and snap back for it to break? not power?

@Johnnyboybravo Technically no. Power(Force) = (speed squard X weight )/ surface area. Which is to say that speed is the most important factor of the equation, but not the only one. So being fast, is the same as being powerful, so long as you have the other factors. Making yourself faster, is easier than making your weight higher or reducing the surface area of your striking point.

@jheck88 - Well, I did Kyokashin Karate when i was about 11 for a year or so. When I was about 15 I changed to Tang Soo Do, which I did for about 7 years. I've also practiced Yang style Tai Chi, boxing, MMA and a hard style kung fu. None of which I did alot of to be honest.

@jheck88 - Well, if your going to be fighting 1 on 1, then I advise Jui Jitsiu. You can get MMA jui jitsiu clubs with emphesis on self defence. If there are going to be multiple people/weapons involved then I advise self defence/ weapons defence specific courses. Make sure the teacher has good credentials. Also its important to get strong and fit, start working out as soon as you can.
If it gets serious then tell a friend, family or the police. A smart man doesn't fight against bad odds.
