Dan Roling told United Mountain Defense (UMD) volunteer staff person, Matt Landon, that our actions were having more of an impact on their business than any coal severance tax. This is a pretty reassuring comment to come from the CEO of National Coal Corporation! It is inspiration to continue and expand our work. It doesn't appear to be a good time to invest in coal in Tennessee as the regulatory process is becoming more and more oppressive for the coal industry. If your company is considering coming to destroy our mountains understand that you won't get them without a fight. We know the laws, we know the land, we know the locals, and we know the lawyers, and we have fun doing this work. www.unitedmountaindefense.org
