A: The colors show which instruments are playing. Here's a chart:

Q: Please tell me more about the composer.
A: You can read about Beethoven here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beethoven
Q: What movies and television shows has this piece been used in?
A: The Black Cat (1934), The Bells in Old Town (1946),The Long Night (1947), A Ham in a Roll (1949), Lola (1961), Me enveneno de azules (1971), A touch of Class (1973), Zardoz (1974), O Casamento (1976), The Outsider (1981), Frances (1982), La scorta (1993), Immortal Beloved (1994), Mr. Holland's Opus (1995), El mundo contra mi (1997), Photographing Fairies (1997), Scotland, Pa. It is performed by the Royalty Free Classical Music Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Keith J. Salmon. I don't know anything beyond that about the recording (who its members are, when and where was the recording made, etc.)
Q: Is there a way I could make bar-graph scores like this myself?
A: The Music Animation Machine MIDI file player will generate this display; you can get the (Windows) software here:

There are lots of places on the web where you can get MIDI files; when I'm looking for MIDI files, I usually go to the Classical Archives site first:

A: See:

Great music and a great mind of a great composer. To bad he couldn't hear or maybe he heard
it from a higher source who gave him that gift of beauty in his music.

You don't know you are talking about. What do you mean by "sense of life" and "trying to be smart?" Sounds to me like the whole dialogue was over your head. Some of us enjoy movies that actually have a decent, unique premise. You would probably rather watch transformers. It is a shame that "The Man from Earth" and movies like transformers both fall into the category of sci-fi.

i personally think that this perticulary piece should have its beginning more staccato when being performed. it will help with the build up.

Hi Smalin: I remember you recommended a book in a comment before about the effect of music buildup but I can't find it now. Can you please mention the book name again?
Also, I think if you show the bar delimiters visually that would be awesome. I sort of lose the bars from 3:00 onwards.
Thank you very much.
boudeyful 1 week ago
@boudeyful It was probably David Huron's book, Sweet Anticipation. As for barlines, I sometimes show them and sometimes don't; either way, some viewers are dissatisfied.

Is your program compatible with other genres?
Say,big band jazz.
whyumadtholol 3 weeks ago
@whyumadtholol Sure ... the only issue is getting the data (MIDI) corresponding to a recording. It's easier to find scores for classical compositions than it is for jazz.
