Fakin' the Flam - Ryan Looney

I am doing a basic triplet flam drag exercise, only when I repeat it for the second time, I leave off the accented note of each flam, yet I still play the grace note, and actually, still stick the accented note without touching the head. I am not sure what you would do with this, other than make it a visual thing and develop some stick control. I know I don't play it the cleanest. Sorry for that.

Very nice. I've been trying to play fake flams for a while, and they're so hard for me to play cleanly. I'm not going anywhere near drags for a while, either. Kudos. =]

strings..., they are really hard to get the hang of, but once you got a handle on it, they are easy to put drags after! best of luck with the fake flams!!!!

You should do a video on proper posturing... clearly you're in a "ready" drumming position, and it makes sense, but maybe you can articulate posturing for different beats or drum kit setups? Or maybe it's just different for everyone. I don't drum at all, just a fan of the band from way back... keep it up.

you have an excellent idea. i really am trying to get away from making instructional videos, but the more i make these little clips of things, the more i am realizing more instruction could go along with it! a proper posture video would be completely appropriate for practice pad, drum kit, etc... keep rocking the bd!

word of advice, loosen up when you play fakes, being stiff or "choking" the stick will make it difficult.
