3 Heart Quest - DW5 Crystal

You might notice here that I'm not as further along in the game as I was in my previous DW Crystal vids. For example, I haven't gotten any Crystals yet, and my inventory isn't completely full.

After getting the DW4 Crystal, I immediately attempted to get the Crystal of the Ice Palace (DW5). However, it just wouldn't drop for me. I theorized that I must have done something to prevent it from dropping, so I did some testing on other save files, ones as early in the game as possible, and I was able to get the DW5 Crystal immediately after defeating Agahnim. However, once I claimed the first Pendant (through Agahnim's boss room, of course), the DW5 Crystal stopped dropping. Thus, this playthrough is done right after defeating Agahnim.

The Ice Palace only has a few exits points from the Exploration Zone, and since they're deep within the dungeon, we'll need head back to the entrance so that we are properly inside. However, like HC2, DW5 has numerous locked doors that would block us from reaching the entrance, so we'll use the infinite keys we get when inside a cave to help us.

Remember, we'll need to arm a Mirror Jump before even attempting to EG inside DW5, and we'll also need to keep it armed the whole time until we've properly entered the Ice Palace. Once doing so, we can immediately activate the Mirror Jump in the entrance room, and then head to Agahnim's boss room to get the Crystal.

***Just FYI, the DW5 Crystal can also be obtained through another, much easier method, using the Sewer Door Glitch. DW5's partner dungeon is DW3, which can easily enter the Exploration Zone and reach Agahnim's boss room. Just remember that you'll need two EGS in this case.
