@Mad9977 This is not a cover, it's a version. It's nevermores interpretation of the song, different band, different music genre, different idea behind the same message. I don't see how it can be useless, it's art and I like both songs. Art is not supposed to be useful, it's not supposed to be anything, that's the point.

i take this as a nevermore song and nothing more. if you assholes stop trying to compare it to S&G you would find that this is an incredible song.

I think that this is the idea of "covers". You take a basic idea from the original and then you improvise as a homage to the owners.Otherwise is just same song, different band..

a good cover is a cover that has nothing to do with the original.otherwise its not a cover,you just play the same song trying to impresonate.

@AngelBeeps this cover obviously isnt supposed to be slow and haunting, it's supposed to crush bones!! when it has the same lyrics and title it doesnt mean that it's the same song.

The only reason people are griping about this is the song title pulled a bunch of hippy "they don't make music like they used to!" classic rock has-beens with narrow-minded musical tastes into viewing / listening to this. Comparing Simon & Garfunkel to Nevermore is absolutely ridiculous. Both produced great music, but seriously? Next topic, let's talk about how much better Neil Young's version of Harvest is than Opeth's. What's that you say? They're not the same song or genre? Wait a minute..

Nevermore took the "hippy" out of the original S&G version which is an abstract juxtaposition of a heavy thought with light singing where the music was a polar opposite of the story of the song. I like this version because it really brings out the darker side of the story.
