Is that guy in the Dodge truck commercial the actor from The Rifleman?!
I was born in 1985 and these commercials seem so weird and foreign to me. No loud music, no CGI, no "we buy gold!"... and they seem so long. Peoples' attention spans have really shortened in the last 30-some years, I guess. They're so fascinating!

Very cool. Thanks for posting this. It's always great to see older inaguration coverage. I wasn't even born yet-of course-when Carter was inaugerated, but have seen many others. It's interesting how different they are...yet how little they change ceremonially.

Poor Luciana and her obsession with beauty. Vain people are never happy.

Look how young Pauly and Brokaw look.

@chibicelchan What you said...plus the cost of air time has gone through the roof so they gotta say too much crap in so many seconds nowadays.

Wish we were back in this time period, where the media was not so sensationalist and you could rely on them for accurate information. Tom Brokaw always pimpin man the BEST!! You dig it?! Fortunately, I still live Carter's inauguration I still live in 1977 man! peace out!

The Laugh-In promo was cut-off, at the end.

@chibicelchan i was born in 1970 and retian very strong memories of the way t.v. was in the 70's (especially the late 70's pop culture stuff) Carter was the first President i remember seeing on t.v. and having a sense of who he was.....lol my family also owned a Dodge Aspen . also i love these 70's clips that include the commercials because its really the best way to get a feel for what it was actually like back then (from a pop culture perspective anyways)
