This is a fan trailer of the fifth season of the tv-series 'Lost', which premieres January 2009 on ABC.

Most video footage is from all the first four 'Lost'-seasons, but there are also video and audio clips from 'Fringe', 'Terminator 3' and 'Jurassic Park III'.
The music is a mix of the choir and non-choir versions of 'Serenata' by Immediate Music. There is also some additional music from 'Divine Crusade' (X-Ray Dog) and James Newton Howard's 'Tarawa'.

This trailer took me AN ENTIRE MONTH to complete. This time around, every second of the video has been triple checked to make it as good as possible. As you can see, I also focused more on mixing scenes, to create the illusion that there are actually new scenes in it. As a diehard-fan of the show, I could create possible scenes of the future: e.g. the volcano-eruption and the Temple are things you are most likely going to see, hopefully next season already. There is more dialogue and better text graphics than before thanks to Sony Vegas, a way better program than the one I used to make my trailers with.

I want to thank everyone who supported me the last few months. Mostly Sean (thelostvault), whose interest in the creation of this video kept me going, and Eefje (Lostje) and Anke, two friends who got to see this trailer a week before the release and gave their greatly positive opinion on it.

My personal opinion is nothing less: I think I surpassed myself greatly this time, and there is a good chance that this will remain the best edited video I have ever made. It has taken me blood, sweat and tears to finish it, so for now I'm going to enjoy a well-earned rest before I return with another video.

LostMovieFreak's 'Lost'-related future:
On July 11th 2009, 'Lost: Season 6 - Fan Trailer' will conclude this series of epic fan trailers, which started with 'Lost: Season 3 - Fan Trailer' in 2006.
In January 2010, I will end my amateur career as trailer-maker with a short but intense teaser that announces the very end of 'Lost', a tv-series which will - without a doubt - be going into history as one of the most revolutionary television experiences ever.

  • @heartstruck1995 Also, if you don't mind, I'd love to hear your impressions of the entire series, including the ending, when you finish. I'm curious how the experience may be different watching it back to back. (I haven't done a single rewatch since it finished up, but I did recently watch the first few episodes and they seemed even better to me having the whole story in mind. There are emotional connections that make some scenes even more powerful.)

  • @heartstruck1995 Do you have a sense of which season is which, or does it all play like one big story in your head?

Did you notice a slump at the beginning of Season 3? It was noticable when you had to wait for a week between episodes, but when those first six episodes are played together, and instantly added to episode 7, 8, etc, I don't think there is any slump at all. How did you see it watching it all together for the first time?

  • @greyeyed123 when i watched the first episode, i couldn't stop..... finished season 1 in 4 days and im on season 5.

  • @heartstruck1995 What season are you on? I'd be interested in how the experience is different than watching it week to week. Do you have to avoid spoilers? When the show was on, we were all working together to find little connections. That seems to be a spoilery way of watching it now, as the entire show is in the can (ie, finished).

When you get to the end of a season do you immediately go to the next?

    I'm very curious.

  • @greyeyed123 I'm one of the people who barely found this show from netflix and now i am obsessed with lost

  • So many people are discovering Lost for the first time in a very different way than when it was on the air. Netflix Streaming allows you to watch from episode one, and watch straight through to the end.

If you haven't already, you have to go to the island! It's your Destiny!

  • This show is so GREAT!

  • biggest fraking fan of lost ever. love it over everything else. So freaking awesome and sweet

  • @greyeyed123 The volcano is the final episode of the show, when Desmond took out the cork.

  • It's really amazing how accurate this prediction was. There was no volcano, and the Temple was in season 6...but everything else is spot on.
