Patrick Swayze died of pancreatic cancer September 14, 2009 - he was 57.

Patrick Swayze asked who will stand up with him in the fight to cure cancer...1 in 4 deaths (in the U.S. alone) are cancer related. With those odds the chances that someone close to you has died or suffers from cancer are very likely. This video is my tribute to Patrick and his activism, and it is very close to my heart, as my dad has suffered from colon cancer. Thank God that he is still surviving and the cancer is said to be in remission, but we can never take things for granted. We all need to stand together to fight for each other and find a cure for this awful disease. Will you stand up with me?

Eva Cassidy died of melanoma (cancer) in 1996 - she was 33 years old. Her music is her legacy. This song has always been inspiring to me, because it is one of my dad's favorites. I felt instantly connected with it and so did he. Eva has the voice of an angel and like Patrick, she was taken too soon.

could you stand the preverbal stake and witch burning for a victory that was pennies to the dollar?
