I know that I don't know you
And you couldn't know me
But time and space collided
And here we are, here we are

I know that you don't understand
And I can't explain
But circumstance conspired
And here we are, here we are

(the time is 4:19...time flies...the answer is no...)

And I know we can't turn back all the years
Time reflected in a Shade of Gray
But I often wonder what could have been
And I still hold on to yesterday

And I know we're not children any more
Innocence lost in a Sea of Gray
But I often wonder what else could be
And I still dream of running away

So where do we begin
And what else can we say?
When the lines are all drawn
What should we do today?

  • stuck in the back of my mind ever since i heard it!!! amazing!!!

  • great picture. It suits to this one (read the lyrics and you ll undestand)

  • @mongoose704 Perhaps a bit at that point maybe, I didn't mean to sound musically illiterate but I just mean in sound. They have such a beautiful sound all their own it's really hard for -ME- to compare them to anyone else. I am being bias *Laughs*

  • @ObsidianSin It is a perfect coparison because this very song was recorded in 1997 which is decidely well after Pink Floyd and Queensryche formed, and if you cannot hear the beginning of "Eyes of a Stranger" or Pink Floyd's "Empty Spaces" you have to be either musically illiterate or intentionally obtuse.

I don't think you are either. I think you hear it beginning at 3:05

  • @mongoose704 - Queensryche and Fates Warning pretty much started at the same time. I don't know if that's a good comparison for them, Nor Pink Floyd either. Fates Warning is a beast all into itself. I think I would go, perhaps with a bit heavier bands for them like.. Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath... But not the others. <3

  • @InanDante I think this is my favorite song as well. This whole album being here has been a lifesaver <3 Thanks.

  • Easy to hear the Pink Floyd and Queensryche influences. Just a great song.

  • It talks straight to the heart! Pure emotion !

  • @Lunarsight i completely agree. i used to only like the second part of the album, and to be honest, it didn't click that this whole album is just one astonishingly long song till i listened to the whole thing. lol a great album and i wish they still made stuff like this...just a purely amazing album with a lot of emotion and passion like lostnparody said and it has become my favorite album.
