@Dragonar2010 Thin the varnish with Windex just like the other paints. Good luck and when you finish, make a video and add it here as a response. Would be fantastic to see what people come up with after watching!

@kiwipile - I suppose that, like Hutchy said, the only real point in applying the primer is to make sure the base coat is more even. I don't think the primer's colour matters that much though (you put a basecoat over it anyway), he probably just used grey because it is a more neutral colour than black or white, so it has a smaller influence on how the other colours turn out.

Cps paint has an easier job clinging onto paint than it does plastic. It's just a precaution to keep the black basecoat from going all blotchy.

why did you prime it grey then basecoat it black?

les, you would never paint a space marine without an air brush would you, becasue i dont like the idea of using a brush to basecoat my new crimsion fist army, do you think i should use an airbrush like yours, also would GW paints with windex be fine or do i have to use gamecolours/ velejo?

@nikthequick9688 there should be one helmet like that on space marine sprues, I know there's definitely one in the dark angel veteran kit but if you want more than the odd one you'll have to order from forge world!! Hope this helps
