@blackarawak83 exactly we are a mix of central and west african tribes. naturally as you've mentioned the two regions influenced each other and formed a new culture.
@Xaymaicana I know that the JA Maroon traditions originated from Ghana(the Akans Obeah and Myal)whereas the Kumina didn't originate in that region but in central Africa. Over time there would have been a syncretysm ot the two traditions.
@arawakalina971 this dance isn't a maroon dance at all. It belongs yo the thousands indentured labourers who came to Jamaica after the East Indians in the late 19th century. They came from the Congo-Angola regions

Kumina is from the buger pulaar from mali not ghana and the dance resemble many dance done in north africa
