Those kids will (who are "burned") be far more likely to cost us ten times as much money through the justice system and such in the future, if we don't help them now. And the justice system isn't competent to help these kids not even as adults.

I think our founders had the right idea, limited government especially on the Federal level, with the states having more power and control than the Federal. The Federal Gov has no business being involved in education. Not one dime should come from the Fed Gov to support education. This republic was set up for states to compete with one another and citizens could vote on which state they thought was best, with their feet. Fed Gov ruins state competition

F it, does nobody understand simple spoken language? He's saying: "If you DON'T CARE ENOUGH about your children to help them GET AN EDUCATION, you MIGHT AS WELL BURN them". As in: "Letting young people enter their adult life WITHOUT GRADUATING is LIKE BURNING them." That means: "STOP LETTING YOUR CHILDREN DOWN".
